The Innovative Electric Hot Water Bottle

The thought of giving someone a hot water bottle as a present probably springs people like Auntie Mabel or Granny Enid to mind. They aren’t exactly seen as ‘hip’; a lot of the older generation do tend to own one and they can usually be found residing on shop floors next to the thermal socks and vests section. However, hot water bottles aren’t only for those with a few wrinkles; a lot of young people are starting to buy and use them, especially as funkier designs come out.

One of the biggest reasons we don’t find hot water bottles in a home with children is because, typically, they are heated using hot water. As this tends to be poured straight from the kettle, it is not safe for children to attempt this, and also they can risk burning themselves on the hot water bottle itself unless there is a protective cover in place. This is a shame, because using a hot water bottle can save a fair bit of money on central heating bills if it is used instead.

There is now a solution to this problem, however. The electric hot water bottle plugs straight into the mains and retains its heat for up to four hours after being unplugged. There is no hot water required, thus removing the chance of accidental spillages or burns. It comes with a soft velour cover, which prevents direct skin-to-rubber contact. The electric hot water bottle is made from triple layered PVC, and has an auto thermostat inbuilt to prevent overheating. It comes already filled with water, so this does not even have to be added initially. As it can go up to 75°C, it will be plenty warm enough for even the chilliest night. The mains cable can be detached after it is unplugged, so it can be carried around safely. A storage/travel case is also supplied when it is bought, which is handy.

As the electric hot water bottle is safer and comes with a fuzzy cover, it will appeal to the younger generation, especially those who own their own home and want to save on their energy bills. Fifteen minutes electrical heating for four hours warmth is a good ratio, and will appeal to those needing to cut their central heating time down. Also, when wrapped in a blanket with a hot water bottle under your arm, it is hard to say where a cosier place could be found.

Giving someone an electric hot water bottle will also make a great gift. It can be given for a variety of occasions; Christmas, birthdays and Easter, to name a few. If their birthday falls anywhere in the colder seasons, it will no doubt be doubly appreciated. It could also make a great cushion when not in use, especially if it matches the room décor.

Electric hot water bottles do not have to be seen as boring; many people be grateful for one of these and you may even find one in your own Christmas stocking this year.
